About Us
Founded in 1837, The University of Dublin Choral Society (UDCS) is the oldest and largest choir in Trinity College. We are a four part mixed voice choir, consisting of undergraduates, postgraduates and staff. Choral specialises in performing large-scale choral works with full orchestral accompaniment both within and outside the walls of Trinity College. We typically perform two concerts per year, with one in each of the main terms, Michaelmas Term and Hilary Term. We rehearse each week on Wednesday evenings in Regent House (just above Front Arch) from 7pm until 9pm under the direction of our professional conductor, David Leigh. We enthusiastically encourage people of all voices and ages to join the society. While previous experience of choral singing or the ability to read music is advantageous, the most important requirements are to have a love of music and to be willing to put in hard work!
