Trinity Association and Trust

Our concerts this term are proudly supported by the Trinity Association and Trust @TCDTrust

The Trinity Association & Trust provides grant support for a wide variety of College projects where funding is not available from mainstream resources.

One of the main sources of funding for the Trinity Association & Trust comes from the Trinity Affinity Credit Card. With over 10,000 cardholders to date, a percentage of the annual turnover on these cards is donated back to College by Bank of Ireland. The more graduates and staff join, the more Trinity benefits.

All income from the Trinity Affinity credit card supports the work of the Trust in providing grant support for the unique Trinity educational experience in areas such as Academic Research, Student Welfare, Student Travel, Clubs and Societies. The Bank of Ireland donation from your annual spend comes at no cost to you and without any disclosure of confidential account details.

Freshers’ Week 2017 and the term ahead

Choral is tremendously excited to kick off it’s 180th year this coming September. We have some really exciting plans for the year ahead, and are looking for new members from across the college community: students, graduates and staff.

Choral is the largest and oldest choir in Trinity College, and is steeped in tradition. To this day, members have the rare privilege of wearing academic gowns during our performances, which typically take place in Trinity’s famous Public Theatre (also known as the Examination Hall).

We stage two main concert series each year, towards the end of each of the main teaching terms. On Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November this year, we will perform Mozart’s dramatic and powerful Requiem (alongside some other works by Mozart and Haydn). In March we will be presenting Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonelle.

Aside from these events, we have a host of other smaller activities during the year, ranging from social events like table quizzes, to our famous Cherry Cup competition for vocal quartets. We are also planning an exciting additional concert for December, with further details to be announced shortly.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please pop down to our stand in Front Square during Freshers’ Week, where you can sign up. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings in Goldsmith Hall from 7-9pm, with our first rehearsal being on Wednesday 27th September. You can also come directly to this rehearsal, or any of the following two in order to sign up.

We’re really excited about our events for this year, and would be delighted if you were part of them!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
