Freshers’ Week 2012 and plans for upcoming academic year

The commencement of the 2012-13 academic year is imminent, and promises to be a tremendously exciting on for Choral. We are delighted to invite the incoming Freshers to join the society in the coming weeks. Choral will have a stand in Front Square during Freshers’ Week (17-21 December) where prospective members can sign up (no audition required!). Our first rehearsal will take place in Regent House (above Front Arch) on Wednesday 26th September 2012 at 6.30pm

The programme for Michaelmas Term will comprise of W.A. Mozart’s Mass in C minor and J. Haydn’s Nelson Mass. For the Hilary Term concert, Choral will perform Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem and Mendelssohn’s Die erste Walpurgisnacht.

Choral also has an exciting set of events planned for Freshers’ Week this year. On Thursday 20th September, a small group of Choral members will perform Vivaldi’s Gloria and Mozart’s Coronation Mass in a free concert in the TCD Chapel to begin at 7pm. On Friday 21st September, Choral will host a Wine Reception in the Elizabethan Room on the first floor of House 6 (above the Students’ Union shop) at 7pm. This event is a great opportunity to meet other Freshers’ that share an interest in music and singing!

We look forward to many new members join over the coming weeks and seeing you all at our Freshers’ Week events and our first rehearsal on 26th September.
